I DID it!!! In two years/6 semesters, I graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Masters of Science in Nursing!! If I pass my certification exam that I will take in the next month or so, I will be a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. It is definitely surreal! The best part was that even though we had to drive the 7 hours from Orlando to Mobile, AL, my family was only 3 hours away in Louisiana and were able to come too. I didn't attend the huge university commencement that was held on Saturday, 12/6. Instead, I attend the (nursing department only) Convocation held on Friday, 12/5 and was able to have Andrew & Peyton walk me across the stage. Afterwards, we all (about 18 of us) went to a local seafood restaurant for a nice dinner! A real treat for me since there are no good seafood restaurants in Orlando! Here are a few clips from the event!

Ward Christmas Party
This was my second event as Ward Activities Chairperson. Of course there were glitches, but my goal was to have an activity that would invite the Spirit and showcase the many talents in our ward. I think that goal was achieved! Of course, no Christmas party would be complete without a visit from Old St. Nick - so after the "reverent" presentation, we had a visit from Santa.
The best part of the entire evening was Peyton finally went up to Santa and got close enough for us to get a picture! In years past, she has been afraid of Santa and I was sure she would do a repeat at this party. But I've been talking to her often about Santa and sitting on his lap to tell him what she wants for Christmas. She stood right beside him and when he asked what she wanted, Peyton said, "A Barbie jeep car with a telephone." And Santa replied, "well, you better tell your daddy to clean out his garage so you can park your car in there!" Santa REALLY does know everything!
